Welcome one and all - I am thoroughly delighted that you would stop by and read. One reason that I started this blog was because I saw a need: a need for theological depth in the women's blogosphere. Another reason was that I have a desire: for women to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lastly, I have a great interest in the health of both womens' minds and bodies. Keep coming back for more "thoughts on etc."
I love orchestral music. I played the violin for almost 12 years, and since I stopped I have loved listening to stringed instruments and being reminded of all those years of practicing. This morning I was searching another blog and came across this wonderful concept: Scripture Lullabies. This music is gentle, sweet, and not just for babies in cribs! I love the fact that Scripture can be put to music and be sung. I am fairly good at memorizing lyrics and so this for me is a perfect way to memorize Scripture and have my mind saturated with God's truth. I hope that enjoy this as well. I know what my next baby shower gift will be to one lucky mom-to-be!
P.s. I also love the fact that a PSALM is being sung! (If you didn't already know this, I love the Psalms).
Since marrying Chance, I have become quite fond of Christian rap/hip-hop. Especially artists like Lecrae, Trip Lee, and Shai Linne, who take gospel music to the next level with their amazing lyrics and phenomenal abilities to rhyme. On a long run the other day, I was listening to Trip Lee's album "20/20" and heard a song called "True Security". I found the lyrics of the first verse especially compelling because he discusses a girl who has decided that her identity is not found in the God who made her, but instead in what others think about her. Trip Lee unpacks the mind of a girl who is confused and seemingly hopeless, and applies the gospel as her only solution! Praise God for this!
